CHS has been among the most active
private equity investors in distribution companies. We invested
in SCP Pool Corporation, a distributor of swimming pool supplies,
in December, 1993 when few private equity firms appreciated the
attractive characteristics of distribution investments. Since then
we have invested in several additional distribution businesses. Though
